Titles Retained with Help from the Murderhawk Monster
COLLEGE STATION, TX - At the start of Into the Fire, the stakes would be raised significantly for the show’s main event. Ultimately, words about a global star would come back to haunt the ambitious former champions of Lions Pride Sports in their quest to regain gold.
Coming into the night, we knew new Lions Pride Sports Champion ZANE VALERO and new Lions Den Champion CHAVY CHULO would be teaming against the wrestlers they defeated for their titles at March’s Fight to Unite, “OUTLAW” J. AUSTIN and MATHAYUS. However, the former champs would not only denigrate the night’s special guest, All Elite Wrestling’s LANCE ARCHER, they would challenge Valero and Chulo to put their belts on the line. Either champion being pinned or submitting would mean both titles would go back to their former holders. Confidently, the new champs would accept.
On the brink of defeat in the back-and-forth contest, Mathayus’s manager DEVON DEVILLE would pull the referee out of the ring. After Mathayus knocked out that official, he and Austin would launch an all-out, rule-breaking attack on the champions. That’s when previous words came back to haunt the former champs, as Archer emerged to annihilate “Outlaw” and “The God of Fire.” A new official in the ring and a Valero splash later, and the champions retained.
Archer would not only celebrate with Valero and Chulo and thank the crowd for supporting Lions Pride Sports, he declared he would be back at some point, maybe to try and become a two-time Lions Pride Sports Champion, maybe to take out the man he had just given a Blackout to, Mathayus.
In other action at Into the Fire:
MIKE DELL and DRAKE DURDEN would pick up another tag team victory, thanks in part to SHIMBASHI walking out on his partner, JAY ALEXANDER. A chokeslam and Dellbow on “The Texas Terminator” would lead to the win for Tower and Charisma over a duo that disagreed with each other from the match’s start.
Frustrated by her two-out-of-three falls defeat to MIA FRIDAY at Fight to Unite, MJ SANTANA would wrongfully claim the powerbomb Friday scored her victory with was illegal. Santana then assaulted Lions Pride Sports’ social media content creator at ringside. Friday would rush out for the save and powerbomb Santana. However, as Mia was helping MJ’s victim, Santana would hit a Code Red to leave Friday laying.
HASTUR faced his toughest challenge yet against the two members of Onslaught, but despite being on the brink of his first defeat thanks to strong teamwork, he overcame HOSTAGE HIRSCH and TRENT MERCER to violently maintain his undefeated streak.
KOOL DADDI DENZELL and RODZILLA continued to try and embarrass THE MOUNTAIN and his partner, TKO JOE, but The Bad Boys of Wrestling would fall to a top rope splash from Joe and a running splash from the 600-pounder.
