When Pandemonium made their brutally impactful debut, two of the superstars most affected were MJ Santana, Shimbashi's now ex-girlfriend, and Zane Valero, Shimbashi's most heated rival. Putting aside their own past issues with each other, Valero and Santana united for the first time. They looked halt the momentum of Lions Pride Sports' newest and most dangerous faction, facing Shimbashi and Prince Ly in tag team competition at Unbreakable.

Shimbashi attempted to eliminate MJ Santana from the Aggieland Rumble match in January, but ultimately, MJ tossed her boyfriend from the ring to win that contest. The duo looked to get back on the same page against a burgeoning friendship, the uber popular Zane Valero and Security Guy.

Zane Valero and Jay Alexander were the two who started the Aggieland Rumble match, and they were the two who outlasted 18 others. Ultimately, Valero knocked Alexander out to win and earn a title shot later that night, but Jay would get revenge by helping cost Zane his chance at gold. At Winter Warfare, the two would go toe-to-toe again, this time in a two-out-of-three falls match.

Since his debut more than a year earlier, Zane Valero was winless in Lions Pride Sports. In that time, he transformed physically, mentally and emotionally, gaining a greater level of fan support. Still, he had no wins heading into Here to Stay. Plus, he had rejected (via chair shots) an invitation to be "mentored" by Mike Dell and Cade Carson in filling the open spot in their treacherous Trifecta group. Carson sought revenge for Valero's rejection. Zane sought a first victory.

At September's Reboot, two teen sensations from The Lions Den Training Facility debuted. Zane Valero lost his match, and Mia Friday won hers. A jealous Valero attacked Friday and her tag partner, The Mountain in the aftermath. November's Full Speed Ahead saw Zane and Mia compete against each other, with Valero disqualified for not following the referee's instructions. Zane's post-match attack on Mia was put to an end by The Mountain, who was named the special enforcer for Friday-Valero rematch at Winter Warfare II.

They both debuted at September's Reboot event. For 18-year-old Zane Valero, it was a strong showing, but a loss. For 14-year-old Mia Friday, it was a victory with tag team partner The Mountain. After Friday's match, Valero hit the ring and attacked his fellow Lions Den trainee. Was it jealousy? Rage? Both? Neither? Regardless of why, a high school grudge match was set for Full Speed Ahead at the new Lions Den Training Facility.
