Lions Den Champion Trent Mercer wanted to make his first defense of his title memorable, so he issued an open challenge to any three eligible wrestlers at Battle in Bryan 5. Chavy Chulo aimed to become the first two-time holder of that belt, while Jak Calloway and TKO Joe each aimed for their first gold.

Five products of The Lions Den Training Facility were entered into a gauntlet match at Lions Pride Sports' fifth anniversary show. The heated rivalry between Chavy Chulo and Security Guy had potential to boil over within the contest, while Cannonball Carmichael, Jak Calloway and Zae Carter were set to make their debuts. The winner would receive a check from Big Daddy's Tattoo Studio in College Station.

At Unbreakable, Chavy Chulo would once again defend his Lions Den Championship against "Outlaw" J. Austin. A week earlier in their first match-up, Chulo not only survived the brawler to retain, he offered "Outlaw" a handshake. Austin declined that show of respect. Of course, he accepted the second opportunity to take the title seven days later.

After denigrating the night's special guest, All Elite Wrestling's Lance Archer, "Outlaw" J. Austin and Mathayus made a request of The Pride's new titleholders: put your titles on the line in the night's tag team match. Lions Pride Sports Champion Zane Valero and Lions Den Champion Chavy Chulo accepted the challenge, drastically raising the stakes of Into the Fire's main event.

Twenty competitors would enter the ring over the course of the contest, with the last wrestler standing earning a championship match later in the night. In January, Mike Dell made Chavy Chulo the third member of The Trifecta. For most of 2021, Dell, Chulo and Cade Carson would dominate Lions Pride Sports with their fluid teamwork and underhanded tactics. But throughout the time of the Lions Den Championship Invitational Tournament, Dell would grow frustrated with Chulo, often irrationally. Chulo was kicked out of the group after losing in the tournament final. Two weeks later at Here to Stay, Chavy sought revenge, while Mike sought to end his former protege.

From 12 wrestlers at the start, it came down to two in the Lions Den Championship Invitational Tournament. Both Mathayus and Chavy Chulo were seeking their first gold in The Pride. Chulo had the added weight of expectation from his dysfunctional partnership of The Trifecta. A completely chaotic, highly physical encounter was all but guaranteed.

Early on in Clash at Caldwell 3, Mike Dell declared he wanted a shot at Drake Durden's Lions Pride Sports Championship. Dell and his proteges in The Trifecta proceeded to beat down the champ, but were stopped by Mathayus. A three-on-two tag match was booked for later in the night.

The opponent of "The Murderhawk Monster" was the current top giant of The Pride, Drake Durden. As the new Lions Den Training Facility opened, Chavy Chulo decided he wanted to vent his frustrations with not having a scheduled match at Full Speed Ahead. A second straight open challenge from the hot wrestler was answered by Lions Pride Sports Champion Nobe Bryant. The result was a title match in the first contest of the new era of The Pride.

Once known as the A-K Connection, Chavy Chulo and Kemonte Ross found themselves across the ring from each other at our Leap Year and Chill event in College Station. After feuding with The Dark Circus, the former Azrael's frustrations boiled over, leading to a name and personality change, along with a new manager in Oso. Ross gained an edge of his own with Chulo's split. Both men were looking to build for their futures by defeating their pasts.

The unmasked Azrael has let his frustrations fuel him, and in this match in Bryan, the recently-renamed Chavy Chulo said he wanted to place an additional challenge in his way to prove he could overcome anything. Thirty competitors, one mission: stay in the ring and earn a Lions Pride Sports 360 Title opportunity. The first Aggieland Rumble match was contested in Bryan, with a random draw determining the entry of the wrestlers. One-by-one, they came in, and 29 had to leave because they went over the top rope and both their feet hit the floor. The lone person to survive the eliminations earned a chance later that night to face Will Allday for the 360 belt.
