BLINDFOLD MATCH

After spending much of the first half of 2023 across the ring from each other, there would be a good chance that either Prince Ly or Zane Valero would be able to gain the upper hand once and for all when both men faced then-Lions Den Champion Trent Mercer in a Triple Threat match at "Into the Fire." But again as he had done throughout his title reign, Mercer defied the odds and retained his championship, for which Ly squarely blamed Valero, and foolishly claimed that he could defeat Valero blindfolded. Valero was quick to take that action and the announcement was immediately made for Lions Pride Sports' first ever Blindfold Match at The Pride's marquee summer event, "Cruel Summer." Would it be "Gen-Z" or the "Prince of Pandemonium" that would be able to feel their way to a victory?

When Pandemonium made their brutally impactful debut, two of the superstars most affected were MJ Santana, Shimbashi's now ex-girlfriend, and Zane Valero, Shimbashi's most heated rival. Putting aside their own past issues with each other, Valero and Santana united for the first time. They looked halt the momentum of Lions Pride Sports' newest and most dangerous faction, facing Shimbashi and Prince Ly in tag team competition at Unbreakable.

Having eliminated the most competitors in the Aggieland Rumble match in January, Prince Ly found himself as the challenger for the Lions Pride Sports Championship at Battle in Bryan 5. Mia Friday would undoubtedly have to deal with more than a top-tier competitor in Ly. The charismatic champ would have to be on the lookout for the Prince's many new friends.

Thirty competitors from Lions Pride Sports and other Texas promotions hit The Pride's ring to take part in the third Aggieland Rumble match. Through rivalry clashes, individual efforts, and alliances formed and dissolved, one wrestler would outlast the others and earn the title shot of their choosing later that same night.

November was not a good month for Mathayus and Prince Ly. Each wrestler dropped their matches against rivals at our fifth anniversary event. Six days later, they lost when they teamed up at Macho Madness. Would they get back on track at Lash Out when they faced the outlandish team of DJ Austin and Space Tiger, Jr.?

Prince Ly's win streak to start his career came at the expense of Hastur, with underhanded tactics targeting "The King in Yellow." Hastur would gain a measure of revenge by costing Ly his chance at the Lions Pride Sports Championship. Each competitors' disdain for the other would boil over in a Tattered Mantle Match. Much like an I Quit Match, the loser would be the one who declared the other as the king of The Pride.

Haunting in Downtown came on the 217th day of Zane Valero's Lions Pride Sports Championship reign, the second-longest in the promotion's history. To continue it and carry the title on to our fifth anniversary event, he would have to defeat the undefeated Prince Ly, who we have learned is willing to take the lowest roads to achieve victory.

In his very first match in The Pride, Prince Ly pulled off a win over one of the promotion's biggest stars. That's where the man from Cambodia likely ends his version of the story. In full, Ly paid a fan to run off with Hastur's beloved mask. The powerhouse ran after that fan and was counted out. Revenge and a chance at a win streak were at stake in the rematch at Warpath.

Prince Ly's first words to The Pride showed both his wealth and sense of entitlement. A fan's random selection at Pick Your Poison determined his first opponent: the disturbed Hastur, who was seeking to get back to winning ways.
